I’m still figuring out exactly how I want to approach my goals for 2024 but here’s what I have so far:
I like naming a few focused goals that are lead dominos, meaning if I accomplish those, it means I’ve been living in a way to accomplish lots of smaller goal ideas.
To me, I like to keep it simple:
$ - I’m finalizing an exact dollar amount that I want on my line sheet
Complete a triathlon - I’ve kind of always felt like I was a bad swimmer but I’ve started going to the pool more consistently so I’m ready to name this goal
Spend 10 minutes 2x per day with my eyes closed (outside) - I have the feeling doing this will be a game changer. I’m not calling it meditating or breathwork which I’ll do otherwise, this is literally just sitting outside eyes closed.
I’m hosting an event tomorrow and there are two goal-related themes:
What’s one thing you’re proud of from 2023
What’s one thing you’re planning for 2024
My answers:
Meeting a random dude on the streets of Nairobi and then spending the next five hours together trying to piece together a custom half army jacket / half denim jacket in the far reaches of the local market’s behind-the-scenes on an absolute mission to bring a dream to life
I’m planning to next year tell an awesome story about how I trained for a triathlon while traveling to a bunch of far-out countries and then completed one in a memorable location. Swimming laps in African lakes, riding bikes in the mountains of the -stans, running every country along the way and then beating my goal (no idea where to even start with a time).
Just some ideas on my goal setting.
There’s more here but sharing this as a starting place for the event to bring about varied convos around goals while letting everything address personal goals in their own way.
